The whole dominance myth in a nutshell

Reviewer: Vivi Sparvoli

Excellent source for understanding the reality about the dominance myth and where it all stems from. O’Heare does a great job of talking to the educated dog trainer without dumbing things down and referencing top researchers in the field. A must read of anyone interested in dog training or canine behaviour counselling.

Ever wonder about the whole dominance thing?

Reviewer: Angelica Steinker, M.Ed., CPDT, CCBC

When I first started out as a professional trainer I used the dominance paradigm. I soon came to realize that in my own family of dogs, who was dominant over whom seems to shift with the wind. I began to wonder what it all meant when I clearly did not see a linear hierarchy in my own dogs. James O’Heare presents current research on dominance theory in this book and shows the reader how dominance theory is not a useful predictor of behaviour in the canine. A great book, that is a must read for any dog owner
